Fellowship Events

Roadshow

Hey ladies anf=d gentlemen, here is a great concert opportunity that is coming to our neck of the woods. It is coming to Columbus. The “glitch” is that it is on a school night which can cause troubles on the front end if you are involved in any activity after school AND also to the fact that we will not get back to Wooster till after midnight.

We will leave the church by 4:30. You MUST sign up for this event by April 12th, so I can make final arrangements for the trip. You can either sign up on the youth board outside of the main office on 200 OR you can email me at greathouse@zionlutheran-wooster.org

You will need the following money for the trip: fast food dinner, concert ticket ($10) and money for concession or souveneirs. I know it will be rough but I would love to take a group down there.

On Sunday, March 15th, we are getting together for dinner and discussion. If you want to meet at the church, we will be departing at 5:30, if you want to meet us up there; you can meet in the gathering area at 5:45.

We will have dinner and we will catch up on life and will have discussion about a current issue that is tied in with the scripture reading of the day.

We hope that you can join us.

Last night we had the Pancake Supper at church. The students and parents put the dinner together to help raise support (money) for the youth to go to the Extravaganza this summer in NOLA.

We had a great turnout and we raised over a $ 1,000 for the event. I want to thank all the youth, parents and adults who made the night possible. i appreciate all of your hard work. Many thanks to you.

Here are pictures of the event:

We are working on transforming the youth lounge. Here are a few photos from this past Sunday:

We made a spontaneous trip to Panera’s tonight. It was a great night to be out on the pation. We grabbed sandwiches (me), soups (Kirsten and Kara) and peacan rolls (Courtney). More spontaneous trips to come.

Here are a few pics from the bowling alley (they are so-so) and one from the yt room. The pic from youth room is the ping-pong of the sign but it did not work.

On January 6th, we are going bowling at Tri-Way Lanes. We will meet at the church (youth room) at 2:30 and head out to the lanes. We will be there till 5 pm and then we will head back to the church. Please bring $ 10 for bowling and shoes. We will be back at the church by 5:30.

Thus, Jan 6th (fellowship Sunday) from 2:30 – 5:30 ( BE THERE ). We will meet in the youth room, go bowling and then we will head back to the church and hang out till you get picked up.

Hope to see you there.

On December 2nd, we had our Christmas Party and then we went out on a shopping spree. The Christmas Party was “low-key”. We had Christmas music playing, snack foods and had about 30 minutes of fellowship while playing “White Elephant Christmas”. After that, we went shopping for two agencies in town. We purchased items for the Closet of Hope and the Free Medical Clinic. The Closet of Hope is a “great ministry”. Here are a few photos:

Kirsten Ready To Brave The Cold It was a cold night and she was ready. She even had her sword.

Ian Defeating The Game Well, he was trying. But, he would admit that he didn’t even know the objective.

Gabby Opening Her Present Ohhh, the decisions. Do you “steal” a gift or take a new gift.

Molly & Terry Waiting Their Turn They waited patiently for their gifts. They had fun while they waited.

Courtney Reading Her Note The note is what really made the gift. Can you believe that we had duplicate gifts ?

Kendra & The Gloves We had a blast while we shopped at Kohl’s. We were buying items for the Closet of Hope.

Jon Shopping
Jon was looking for the perfect clothes to give to the children who are looking for some stability.

Our Shopping Total

On Sunday, October 7, we had 11 students and 4 adults who headed up on the North Side of town and went to Cold Stone. We each had some yummy ice cream and just lounged around in the store. It was actually “too hot” to be outside; so we stayed inside and lounged on the red furniture. After finishing the ice cream, we went back to the youth room and played air hockey, ping pong, and x-box. We hope to see you at our next fellowship event – which will be a “rock-in” time.

This past Saturday, we went to the Blink Festival. The Festival was very good. The headliner for the event was Daughtry. However, there were numerous bands there that gave some great performances. Some of these included Thousand Foot Krutch, 12 Stones and MxPx. This may become an annual event for the folks up at clay’s Park; if so; plan on jumping aboard with us next year ( if you missed out this year ).
